Chad Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, has signed a two year contract with the Montréal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League. He worked out with the team after meeting the players, coaches, and executives and the contract includes no veteran-type incentives.

Johnson wanted the opportunity to show that he can still play the game physically and be a positive influence in the locker room. Former Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith of Ohio State is likely to win the starting quarterback position and Duron Carter, son of Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter, is one of the other Alouettes receivers.

Johnson has not played professional football since his release from the Miami Dolphins in 2012.
